Matrix | How to become a Neo-Entrepreneur [Inspiration]

From a business consulting perspective, I tend to usually catch myself using several metaphors and analogies from the move “Matrix” in regards to explaining the difference in paradigms between the mindset of an entrepreneur and those whom tend to live and think inside the box.  To succeed in the game of business, you need to master your emotions and your external variables.  Such as the pressures that society tends to emit in our daily lives, destroying our focus and devastating our dreams.  I like to associate these external negative variables with the world that we call the Matrix, and an order to take on this world, you need to think and act like a Neo-Entrepreneur!

The Matrix has several lessons that can be applied to everyday life and the world of business. Therefore the term “Neo-Entrepreneur” fits the exact role for which one needs to emulate in order to take on the Matrix, or the world that we know.  The term “Neo-Entrepreneur” was actually inspired by the following site as the site exclaims,

The Neo-Entrepreneur is the prototype for the modern, Neo-like entrepreneur. Its inspiration is the main character – Neo – from the Matrix series. Of course, you’ll find the Neo-Entrepreneur paradigm, idea, notion nowhere. Not in any business book or any course from any business school. It’s just an idea I’ve conjured up. But trust in me, being a Neo-Entrepreneur is crucial for your success. And the actual tips for how to become one are in the movie Matrix.

Training and Mastering Your Craft

“See to it that you temper yourself with one thousand days of practice, and refine yourself with ten thousand days of training”- Shinmen Musashi

As states;

After you’ve made the commitment to escape the day to day rat race, the prison in which you were born, you’ll need to start. Immediately start your training. Like Neo did, you need to master Kung-Fu. In our case, in the business world, you need to master accounting, marketing, management and all the moving parts of your business.

So make the conscious decision to take charge and control of your life now, because if not, the Matrix will take control of you!

“there is nothing outside of yourself that can ever enable you to get better, stronger, richer, quicker, or smarter. Everything is within. Everything exists. Seek nothing outside of yourself.” – Shinmen Musashi

Free Your Mind

“There are two powers in the world, the sword and the mind. In the long run the sword is always beaten by the mind.” – Napoleon

Simply put, the Matrix is a movie that integrates several philosophical, stoic, and eastern principles in regards to clarifying your mind and mastering your craft.   In the movie, Neo liberates his mind and conscious from the Matrix by taking the “Red Pill”.   The “Red Pill” acts as a metaphor for escaping the day to day routine that we call life.  Neo had to make the conscious and objective choice to set himself free from the world that he thought he once knew. It was only after taking the “Red Pill” that his mind was finally free.

So what are you going to do?

As states, “Neo has it within him to choose the red pill. It takes courage, tremendous desire and a “can’t take it anymore” attitude.”

Choosing the red pill when it is offered to you is the first step.

“Today is victory over yourself of yesterday; tomorrow is your victory over lesser men.”- Shinmen Musashi
